Getting Started

  1. Click the Invite link or use the Invite now button on the dashboard homepage.
  2. Select the server where you want to add the bot.
  3. Grant the requested permissions and click Authorize.

For the bot to work correctly, it needs at minimum:

PermissionWhy it’s needed
Read MessagesTo see messages to translate
Send MessagesTo post translation results
Manage WebhooksTo post translations as the original user’s name/avatar (link channels)
Embed LinksTo send formatted translation embeds
Manage MessagesTo synchronize message deletions across linked channels, and to delete the original message when a translation is deleted
Manage ServerTo read server automod rules and apply them to bot translations; also used to generate invite links via /support

To manage and configure the bot (via slash commands or the dashboard), the server moderator needs:

  • Manage Channels
  • Manage Messages
  • Manage Server

Once the bot is in your server, try these commands to get started:

/help — Overview of all commands
/languagelist — Full list of supported languages
/faq — Answers to the most common questions

You can manage every feature visually from the Dashboard:

  1. Go to translator.unbonwhisky.fr and click Login with Discord.
  2. Select your server from the server list.
  3. Click Settings to open the bot configuration panel for that server.
  4. Navigate to any feature in the sidebar to configure it.

When multiple translation configurations are active on the same channel, the bot applies them in this priority order (highest → lowest):

  1. /linkchannels — Link Channels
  2. /reverse — Reverse Languages
  3. /channellanguage — Channel Language
  4. /defaultlanguage — Default Language
